About this event:
Hey mama! It’s not too late to get your garden started. Join us Saturday, May 22 at Deep Ellum Urban Gardens (DUG) for everything you need to know about growing your own veggies!
You’ll learn all about where to place your gardens, how to prepare your soil as well as maintain it.
Participants will also learn:
- Which vegetables to grow and when they need to be planted
- The benefits of a raised beds, containers, and vertical gardens to fit every size space
- Helpful tips to get rid of pests
We hope to see you and your friends there for a fun-filled afternoon of outdoor gardening!
DUG is a community garden nestled in the urban neighborhood of Deep Ellum. They are a project of the Deep Ellum Community Association (DECA). Their vision is to provide opportunities for people to grow food for themselves, increase their healthy activity, get to know their neighbors, learn from each other, and create a productive and beautiful commons.
